The Physiology of Plants Under Stress, Abiotic Factors (Vol 1)

This is really great book and provide readers the basic understanding of how plants behave under less favorable conditions, particularly from the abiotic factors. I found about this book is very suitable for the students (graduate and undergraduate), researchers, as well as for the instructors.  This book is very easy to understand how stressors, i.e.,  high and low temperatures, drought and flood  influence plant growth and development, and finally  crop yields.  The structure of presentation is very flowing.. the way to describe 'under stress' is very well presented and easy to understand.

Hardcopy will never disappear !

Conventional books are not going to disappear, though digital books or e-books are coming abundantly in the stores and on-lined. Digital books will never be able to replace the existence of conventional books. Although readers using digital books get the same information with those using conventional books, hard copy of a book will remain available and exist anywhere. It is apart of civilization anyway. Readers still enjoy the way to hold the books, readers enjoy the smell of bookshelves in the library.  So, all the writers and publishers, keep writing and keep printing the hard-copy versions.

Knott's Handbook for Vegetable Growers, 4th Edition

It was in 1992 I found this book in the library. I know growers also widely use this books as their handbook, but as a student I really found this book is very useful. It provided me lots of practical aspects of the way conducting vegetable production.  In addition , it also gave me better understanding of how vegetables should be properly managed to get maximum yields. Now, I still consider this book as a five star category. A book where I find many practical aspects meet the scientific perspectives.  I strongly encourage students and growers to use this books.

Soil Penetrometer, measure compaction and hardpan

KNOW your soil well. and treat it, then you plant your crops.  We might well understand that soil compaction determine so many aspects of agronomic decisions. Hard and compacted soil lead to higher costs for crop production. Soil penetrometer  is very useful for the farmers to determine the soil compaction levels.
